The Queensland government is to provide a ‘black-box’ of drugs to all those in need and the people it works with. The drugs will be available from pharmacies in the Qld Government’s new drug supply scheme, which is expected to be rolled out this week.
The drug plan, developed by the Department of Health (DH), is expected to be rolled out over the next few months. The drug plan will include new formulations, new treatment options and a number of “black box” provisions.
It will also include a “black box” for all those diagnosed with erectile dysfunction, for those at risk of heart failure, and for those who do not respond to heart failure treatments. It will include a list of drugs to be used to treat erectile dysfunction and hypertension, as well as new treatments to treat the conditions that the new drug plan will cover.
The drug plan is designed to reduce the risk of heart failure by preventing the use of certain heart medicines in the event of heart failure, such as furosemide and amiloride. However, it is also to ensure that those with serious heart failure or heart disease can take appropriate steps to prevent this and to be made aware of all other medications and supplements that have been put into their bodies.
A pharmacist, or pharmacist who works with you in order to assess your health is also included in the drug plan to ensure the drugs are appropriate for you.

A pharmacist can also be a prescriber or a nurse who works in a hospital and provides the advice on blood pressure, blood pressure tablets, pulse and the use of oxygen and fluid therapy. They will also be included to ensure the drug plan is used properly and to ensure that you are able to receive appropriate medical care if you are unable to do so.
